A vintage wash stand refreshed!

Good morning! I’m getting used to the new WP blog so apologize ahead of time for some of the goof:-)  I’ll figure it out eventually but wanted to get a post up!  This weekend has been full of wonderful new followers to the blog and Facebook thanks to Miss Mustard Seed having a wonderful give away for me.  Welcome to you all!  I hope at least a few of you are in my local area, DC Metro, so we can meet at some point.

This week I found many many goodies and hence I have my garage, my parents garage, my basement and the driveway FULL of projects.  I actually posted many of them on my Etsy shop, www.etsy.com/shop/stylishpatina, to give folks the opportunity to buy “raw” pieces and refresh them themselves OR you pick the paint color and I can do a custom job for you.

Here is a little project I just finished.  This I did with Annie Sloan Old White and Old Violet.  I just love this color combo.  This little items could be used as a night stand, a TV stand or even in a living room.  I just adore it!  Her stats are — 32″wide 20″deep 29″tall. I think I’ll call her Violet:-)  Violet has brand new glass knobs as well.  She is now looking for a new home.  She is $145.

Violet turned out beautifully. Did you use the dark wax on it? I have noticed that your projects with Old White seem more of a bright white than those of other bloggers. I am going to be ordering my first container of ASCP and I am a bit confused. Help.

    Hi, Kelly,

I live in the Richmond, VA area and I was THRILLED to hear about your blog and to see that you are selling Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in NOVA. I believe you are the closest stockist to Richmond. I see you are planning classes/workshops soon and hope I can get into one. I love using the paint but being new to painting furniture I can use some expert tips. I’ve been painting small things but I have a large bookcase on my list and I need some motivation.
I’m enjoying your blog and love your work. The entertainment center in graphite looks so good!!

    Hi Kelly,
First – your stuff is amazing! And I have a little dresser just like this one I want to refinish.
But I’m confused on what “wax polish” is? Can you inform me a little more? Did you still use paint?

    • Hi!
The furniture wax you put on after the paint and it brings out the distressing and make a nice smooth finished surface. Annie Sloan makes wax but you can also use Johnson’s from Home Depot and it’s great too!
