Exterior Holiday Decor

If you haven’t tackled the exterior of your home for the holidays I have been pulling together a Pinterest Board full on Holiday Decorating inspiration you can see it here.

I tend to be pretty traditional when it comes to exterior decorating. My must haves are:

1 – Fresh garland ideally a mix with boxwood so there is extra texture

2 – I love holly for the pop of red in an arrangement

3 – Great big fat ribbon, I tent to lean towards the Ralph Lauren plaid and velvet

4 – Adding in a bit of shimmer where you can is a must think silver and golds

5 – Incorporate a vintage sled or other unexpected elements

Deborah of The Little Garden Spot did the flowers for our Vintage Rental open house and she did these gorgeous interior and exterior displays. I really adore how she did our window boxes.  This is just a mix of greenery however; the texture of the different greens makes a gorgeous display.

We added a bit of vintage flavor by using vintage silver and china to hold many of the bouquets.  This is great for the holidays as well as a wonderful idea for weddings.

I have a collection of vintage sleds (of course I do) an easy idea to get a little holiday spirit is to hang these on the wall or tie some greens with a big bow and you are done!
