This week’s before + after is from Maria from Alexandria!
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I’m an occasional DIYer. I grew up in Alexandria, VA and moved back over a year ago from Las Vegas, via Mexico. I love to go hunting for treasures at estate sales and like transforming old worn pieces into unique treasures. I’m a global events director in the tech industry, so this is a great side hobby to express my creative side.
Tell us about your project or redesign:
I bought this glass curio cabinet in Las Vegas a couple of years ago. I collect amazing costume jewelry so I wanted a beautiful display cabinet to store my treasures in. I used English Yellow on the interior, French Linen on the exterior, craqueleur and dark wax and metallic gold on the accents. I got new interior lights (with touch sensor on the top hinges!) and glass panels installed on the sides and front. It looks amazing! I’m using it for my jewelry cabinet.
Great work Maria! We can’t wait to see your next project. If you have a great Before + After, be sure to submit your work here.
If you want to learn how to update your vintage furniture like Maria did, we have posted our new fall DIY class schedule online – check it out! They are held at our new retail location in Mosaic District.
