What could one possibly write about bright, fun, stylish, creative, energetic and kind, Kelly Thompson at Stylish Patina? Kelly is fabulous to work with. I bought some great cane chairs for our dining room, which she delivered in Ira-much to my son’s delight. When we brought them in she was able to give me some great ideas about furniture placement, and offered to keep me posted on any “finds” that might work for me. A few months later… one of her “finds” is now our dining room table…again delivered in Ira to our delight.
Kelly is fantastic to work with, we are lucky to have met her at Lucketts!
I bought a beautiful table refurbished y Stylish Pantina and I LOVE IT! She has kept in touch with us about other items we asked her to keep an eye out for! The paint quality is great and the table is sturdy! She only had very high quality items.
Kelly, I really like the your website. The layout and colors are soothing, very stylish. I agree with you wholeheartedly about patina. I get very excited when I see an old truck with worn paint, my husband knows when he is driving to turn around because I will want to take pictures. On one vacation in Florida, old lawnmowers lined up caught my eye. As I was walking in the neighboring vacant lot to photograph from an angel, something caught my eye. It was a very large, rusted metal boat and it was a beauty. Just thinking about it gets me excited. Anyway, good luck with everything. You are going to do great.
My little Arlington rental home feels much more like home because of the amazing finds of Miss Kelly! We moved from KY over a year ago and I sure have missed all my small town stores…until we found Stylish Patina! Now when my home needs a little something, I have just the person to call. Thank you Miss Kelly for always finding JUST what we are looking for and at a price that cannot be beat!
Love Stylish Patina! Being a stay at home mom and a work at home mom leaves little time to dig for cool pieces anymore. The last thing I want to do is to take 3 kids to an antique store! I honestly felt I had to put my true style on hold for a few years! Stylish Patina has changed all of that. Kelly has helped me find pieces, revamped a big built in (that I hated and now I love!) in my home, and just given me the ability to infuse my style back into my new home! Kelly is always on the lookout for me and my business by finding just the right piece! She also allows me to rent pieces for my photo shoots which is huge, as I don’t have the space for all of the pieces I want.
I cannot say enough about Kelly and Stylish Patina!
I am a first time mom-to-be who had about had it with the options available for nursery furniture. It was all tacky, cheap and overpriced, and I was beginning to think about turning the nursery back into a guest room and just having the baby sleep with us for the next 18 years. Then I found Kelly and Stylish Patina…and fell in love! I went to her house on a Sunday to see a dresser and left with 2 dressers and rocking chair. If the room had been bigger I would have left with a lot more. By Tuesday, my dressers and chair were custom painted and delivered–all for a cost that defined reasonable.
On top of having an eye for the fabulous, Kelly is easy to work with and FUN. And, anytime you can get some Ira love in your driveway you know it’ll be a good day.
The new website is fantastic and I wish Kelly all the luck in the world in her business. She’s a keeper!
Kelly created THE perfect dresser for our nursery. After spending weeks looking in all of the usual spots for baby furniture, I thought we’d have to settle for a generic white dresser. I happened upon Kelly’s shop while looking at older dressers on Etsy and I’m so happy I did! I went to her house to see the dresser that was listed on Etsy and she pointed me towards another dresser she had recently found – it was exactly what I had in mind! I told her about the color scheme we had going on and she made several great suggestions for colors and gave me color samples to take home and try in the room. The finished product was ready in a week and we couldn’t be happier with the result. I promise to send in pictures as soon as the nursery is all set up! Communication was easy and she was a lot of fun to work with. THANKS!
Kelly did an amazing job on an old desk I found that needed that special Kelly love. She painted it in Graphite with Annie Sloan chalk paint, distressed it to perfection, and finished it off with some of her darling knobs. Not only did she do a great job, she offered expert advice on colors and coordinating a chair that she ended up doing in Duck Egg! Thanks Kelly for slaving away at this amazing desk in 100 degree heat! We love it!
When I was looking for a dresser for my daughter’s nursery, as well as one for my bedroom, I couldn’t find anything that appealed to my tastes and fit the budget. Then I found Kelly and Stylish Patina. She worked with me to find two great vintage pieces, and she gave them a beautiful custom paint job. The nursery dresser is gorgeous, and with it’s quality vintage construction and lovely finish, it will stand of to many, many years of use.
Kelly really went the extra mile and helped us get a behemouth of a dresser/buffet into our house and up a narrow flight of stairs to our bedroom. We’ll definitely be back for more refreshed vintage goods!
I had orginally bought a distressed antique vintage dresser which I intended to use as a unique changing table for my daughter, due in December. The changing table looks beautiful, so I asked Kelly to paint and distress her crib as well and she painted it to match the dresser. The crib looks gorgeous & it matches perfectly, and I love that its not the standard color. I would tust Kelly with any piece and can’t wait to see her future projects!
After moving across the country and quickly furnishing my new home, I found myself empty handed after looking months for my final piece–a vanity to spice up my overly matchy apartment. I purchased an “as-is” vanity from Kelly. She was very supportive with my first attempt to “re-modernize” a piece of furniture. She delivered it right to me and continued to be helpful throughout my month-long process all the way until the final gloss coat was applied and the drawers were lined with refreshing, fun paper. I love my new, sassy vanity–it brightens my day every morning (literally)! I plan to rely on Kelly’s advice for my next item, and I think I will try her Annie Sloan chalk paint. Kelly is inspiring!
I first meet Kelly when I was looking for a vintage sewing machine for my daughter’s birthday party (http://www.purejoyeventsblog.com/2011/07/vintage-sewing-birthday-party.html). The sewing machine served as dessert table and helped give the party space a real vintage feel.
Kelly came through for me again when I was doing a photo shoot for breast cancer awareness ((http://blog.amyatlas.com/2011/09/a-collection-for-a-cure-guest-dessert-feature/). She was kind enough to loan us 4 pink chairs, an English table, and pink glassware.
Funny thing is, we’ve never meet in person! I’ve always picked up the pieces from her driveway. Hopefully, we can finally meet up soon.
I have to say that I’m so happy for her success. In a short few months, Stylish Patina has really grown.
